BBC Radio Resources is using the Optimizer as a transferable device to assess the benefits of room correction in music studios, such as Maida Vale and Radio Theatre, as well as in OB trucks. Various consoles are used (mainly SSL and Studer), with Mitchell Todd Excel 202As monitors for nearfield and surround work.

Major benefits that the Optimizer provides include:

• reduction in monitor and room colouration, improved loudspeaker phase, and reduction of reflections,
• improved listening in trucks, where  speaker positioning is often far from ideal,
• improved accuracy, and reduced listening fatigue for sound engineers.
