BASIS 1 and BASIS 3: Active Bass Loudspeakers with omnidirectional dispersion characteristics

The response of the BASIS 1 extends from 28 Hz – 80 Hz, with a selectable HPF rolling off at 40 Hz. Designed to complement the RL906 studio monitors and for use as sub-woofer and LFE in 5.1 systems. XLR connectors provided for input and through connection and Bass Management of a complete 5.1 system. Continuously adjustable compensation time/phase in the range of 0 to 1 meter.
The power amplifier uses MOSFET technology. Frequency-dependent RMS level detection protects the driver from overload. A specially developed long-throw bass driver with a linear displacement of ±12 mm ensures very low distortion at low-frequencies to minimise sub-bass localisation in the room. An infinite baffle enclosure is used to achieve optimum impulse response. The system can be set to bypass mode using a cable-connected remote control. All connectors, power, bypass remote and the controls are found on the rear of the cabinet. A two-coloured LED on the front indicates the state of the amplifier and warns of clipping. The BASIS 1 is supplied in a magnetically shielded version as an option. All the electronics can be supplied in a separate box for use in OB vans, or wall installations.
The response of the BASIS 3 extends from 28 Hz – 80 Hz, with a selectable HPF rolling off at 40 Hz. Designed to complement the RL903, RL904 and RL906 studio monitors and for use as the main sub-woofer for 5.1 systems. XLR connectors provide for connection and Bass Management of a complete 5.1 system. Continuous time/phase compensation can be applied in the range of 0 to 1 meter.
